Financial Times Deutschland reports on PolyICOn January 12th, 2005 the "Financial Times Deutschland" reports that the Siemens joint venture PolyIC is making progress in the mass production of plastic RFID chips. The company PolyIC, a joint venture of Siemens Automation & Drives, has made a leap forward in the mass production of plastic RFID chips, states a brief report in the "Financial Times Deutschland". The company's R&D staff has reportedly succeeded in manufacturing the fastest plastic integrated circuit to date with a 600 KHz frequency. Furthermore, they created exceptionally stable polymeric circuits with the aid of advanced printing technology. The extraordinary commercial potential of plastic RFID chips compared to conventional silicon-based chips is based on their low-cost manufacture, states the report. | | |
