Vision

PolyIC's goal is it to produce low-cost electronics, which will be applicable in single-use applications due to its low cost. For this reason, electronics will be made possible in situations and products, where we can not use it nowadays. This is made possible through the special features of the low-cost electronics produced by PolyIC as it is very thin and as flexible as a film. The focus is on the production of electronics for radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. In the future, more features are planned such as indicators or displays as well as sensors or memory. Complex combined systems, so called smart objects, can also be integrated during the production process on a substrate.

Therefore, in the future there can be a yoghurt container that not only radios its price to the cashier but also shows in a blinking display its best before date or other consumer information.

The ambitious goal of PolyIC is to produce thin, flexible and low-cost RFID tags. To be able to produce tags that will be sold for only cents, PolyIC uses a step-by-step approach. Step by step the materials used and the production processes are being optimized. At the end of the road, PolyIC will reach a reliable roll-to-roll printing process to produce printed electronics.

Printed electronics on flexible films will make electronics possible everywhere in the future - "electronics everywhere".
